Purity

I recently read where a Christian musician apologized for a song he did for his daughters (Modest is Hottest).

It was a satire but it had truth in it and many were offended by it. (What's new? It seems many are offended today by truth.)

I then read where those who teach the purity culture are basically saying that for a women to be taught to dress modestly is teaching they should be ashamed of their bodies. That men and boys are not taught to control their thoughts and desires when they see a girl or a woman scantily clad.

They go on to say that teaching girls and boys to set boundaries and follow the bible concerning sex outside of marriage is teaching them that they are ruined or no good if they fail.

What I see is that a woman can be exquisite and incredibly beautiful while dressing modestly. It does not mean she is ashamed of her body it means she holds her body sacred, and she knows she is beautiful but doesn't feel the need to show it off.

She is confident enough in her own skin that she don't need to get approval from onlookers. She sees her body as a gift from God that she wants to share with the man God has for her.

Setting boundaries between an unwed couple should not be condemned no more than those who cross boundaries should be condemned. God didn't send his son into the world to condemn but to save.

Pure is what God has called us to be. It is the goal of the Christian to pursue purity, it is living according to how the bible has taught us to live.

We sometimes fail at attaining that goal but it does not mean we shouldn't try or give up when we do fail. We seek God's forgiveness and we continue on his path to purity.

Amen sister!! More women should be comfortable in their own bodies instead of uncomfortable.

This is amazing. Some women don't see their selves as beautiful. This is so true.
