It's time

Throughout the bible we read about the children of Israel and how they saw the hand of God move in their lives, how he delivered them out of Egypt and provided for them, yet time after time they would forget him, not keeping their faith or focus in him and began living in sin again. Each time God would have mercy on them when they would cry out to him and repent.

We are God’s people just like the children of Israel because of Jesus and we are just like the children of Israel in that we are guilty of forgetting, not keeping our faith or focus in him and going back to sin.

We are going through a pandemic in this world today and it reminds me of when God would become fed up and angry with the children of Israel for not obeying. I’m not saying that God made this happen because I don’t know that, but what I do know is that his people which is all of us believers, are guilty of putting things before God. We have made compromises just like the children of Israel did.

Just as they did, we have become like unbelievers, in fact it is getting more difficult to see the difference between the two.

I have noticed this verse a lot lately and I believe it is for all of us today as much as it was for the children of Israel back then. We may not have been acting like it, but we are his children. It’s time we stand out from the rest of the world.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

We need to humble ourselves before the Lord and seek him with all our hearts and get back to the basics.
